Chateau Angludet Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel from Margaux presents an elegant, restrained profile typical of reds from this area. In the glass it shows a deep ruby color with purple highlights; on the nose there are aromas of ripe forest fruit, plum and light spicy and earthy notes that do not overwhelm the wine. On the palate it is balanced, with noticeable but well-integrated tannins, fresh acidity that supports the sip and a persistence tending toward fruity and mineral notes.

It is best served at a moderate temperature to bring out its aromas and structure; it pairs with red meat dishes, light game, aged cheeses and oven or grilled preparations. It is advisable to give it a short period of aeration before serving if one wishes to soften firmer components; for those who prefer, it can be kept in cellar to develop further. It also suits quiet tasting moments.

Winery history

In the 20th century ownership passed through several families and, from 1977, to the Mentzelopoulos family, who led a revival in quality. Recently a generational transition took place within the owning family.
