The Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG produced by Lilliano winery is an excellent example of how the tradition and terroir of the Chianti Classico area succeed in creating wines of remarkable depth and complexity. This wine represents a careful selection of the best Sangiovese grapes, grown on the Tuscan hills characterized by soils rich in galestro and alberese, which ensure perfect ripening of the grapes and a concentration of aromas and flavors.

In terms of tasting, Lilliano's Chianti Classico Riserva displays an intense ruby red color that turns garnet with aging. The bouquet is rich and persistent, with notes of ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, enhanced by nuances of spices, leather, and tobacco, derived from aging in oak barrels. On the palate, the wine is robust yet harmonious, with a well-balanced tannic structure that endows it with longevity and the ability to gracefully evolve over time.

Regarding the service, the Chianti Classico Riserva pairs magnificently with Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina, game, and aged cheeses. It is advisable to serve it at a temperature of 18-20°C and to open the bottle a few hours before consumption to allow the wine to best express its qualities.

In conclusion, this Chianti Classico Riserva is a true gem for wine lovers who are looking for a red wine capable of offering a rich and deeply rooted taste experience in Italian wine culture. A wine that fully celebrates the essence of its territory.

Winery history
The village and estate of Lilliano have medieval origins; the property was acquired by the Berlingieri family in 1920 and wine bottling began with Princess Eleonora Ruspoli Berlingieri in 1958. The estate is currently managed by the brothers Giulio and Pietro Ruspoli, with Giulio in charge since the year indicated on the website.
Production philosophy
The estate aims to showcase the local area and Sangiovese, working to extract elegance and longevity from the wines through carefully controlled vinification, maturation in botti and tonneaux, and attentive vineyard management. The approach combines respect for the terroir with modern cellar techniques to produce balanced, long-lived wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in Chianti Classico, between Castellina in Chianti and Monteriggioni. The soils are predominantly "alberese", which tends to delay ripening, promoting acidity and aromaticity; the main vineyards cited are Le Piagge, Casina Sopra Strada and Vigna Catena. The estate also states that its total landholding extends over hundreds of hectares, with the vineyards reported as 40 hectares.
