Chianti DOCG Borghi D'Elsa di Melini presents an immediate and recognizable profile: ripe red fruit in the background, cherry and sour cherry, accompanied by light floral notes and a hint of well-balanced spice. On the nose it doesn’t try to astonish with artifices, but instead offers clarity and aromatic cleanliness that prepare well for the sip; the acidity is lively without being intrusive and the sapidity keeps the palate attentive, giving structure to a medium-bodied frame and soft, never harsh tannins.

On the palate its drinkability is its strong point: smooth, balanced, with fruity echoes that lead to a fair persistence. It’s a Chianti suited to everyday drinking but with enough personality to stand up to structured dishes; it works particularly well with ragù pasta, savory white meats and semi-aged cheeses. Serve cool, around 16–18 °C, to appreciate its freshness and elegance without forcing them.

Winery history
The Melini family's roots in winemaking date back to the 18th century; the winery is recorded in historical sources as active since 1705. Over the course of the 20th century ownership passed through several hands before becoming part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which still oversees its brand and production.
Production philosophy
The winery combines Chianti tradition with modern winemaking techniques, focusing on vineyard selection and the expression of Sangiovese, either as a single-varietal or in blends with international grape varieties, to produce terroir-driven, ready-to-drink wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The facilities are located in the hills of the Chianti Classico around Gaggiano. Among the estates and vineyards cited in the sources are La Selvanella, Granaio and Terrarossa; the vineyards are situated on hillsides, with exposures and elevations typical of the Chianti Classico area.
