Assertive and focused, this Chianti Riserva Melini displays an authentic, recognizable profile: in the glass ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum emerge, accompanied by light herbal notes and a hint of spice that enlivens the bouquet. On the palate it combines tension and fullness, with fresh acidity that supports the drink and well-balanced tannins that provide structure without being intrusive; the finish is pleasant and leaves a balanced, savory impression.

It’s a wine that asks for dishes with personality and enhances them: meat ragù, flavorful roasts, medium-aged cheeses and mushroom-based preparations make good companions. Serve at around 16–18 °C to appreciate its finesse and progression; it can be enjoyed young for its freshness or cellared for a few years by those seeking greater roundness.

Winery history

Over the course of the 20th century ownership passed through several hands before becoming part of Gruppo Italiano Vini, which still oversees its brand and production.
Production philosophy
The winery combines Chianti tradition with modern winemaking techniques, focusing on vineyard selection and the expression of Sangiovese, either as a single-varietal or in blends with international grape varieties, to produce terroir-driven, ready-to-drink wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The facilities are located in the hills of the Chianti Classico around Gaggiano. Among the estates and vineyards cited in the sources are La Selvanella, Granaio and Terrarossa; the vineyards are situated on hillsides, with exposures and elevations typical of the Chianti Classico area.
