The Côtes du Rhône Villages Bête à Bon Dieu from Cave de Cairanne represents a sumptuous example of red wine from the renowned Rhône wine region in France. This wine is primarily made from Grenache and Syrah grapes, giving it a robust and yet elegant structure. On the nose, one perceives intense notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices, and a light touch of aromatic herbs, typical of the local flora.

On the palate, Bête à Bon Dieu is generous and complex with a velvety texture that envelops the palate. The presence of tannins is well balanced, also thanks to careful aging that achieves perfect harmony between acidity and the natural sweetness of the grapes. The finish is persistent and leaves a pleasant sensation of warmth with hints of vanilla and black pepper.

Ideally served around 16-18°C, this wine pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as meat stews, aged cheeses, and mushroom-based dishes. It is also an excellent choice to enjoy during a winter evening by the fireplace.

Winery history
Founded as a cooperative in 1929, the Cave de Cairanne developed as a collective of local winegrowers. Today it brings together numerous members who work the vineyards in Cairanne and the surrounding area. The brand name Camille Cayran identifies the range of wines produced by the cooperative and reflects the collaborative work between the winegrowers and a central technical team.
Production philosophy
Careful vineyard work and respect for local heritage: soil care, rigorous grape selection and precise winemaking. The winery declares a combination of respect for traditional practices and openness to innovation, producing both conventional and organic wines and some cuvées with no added sulfites.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyard is located in the heart of the crus of the southern Rhône Valley. The terrain is varied: alluvial terraces, garrigue and a hilly massif with limestone-clay soils, marls and pebbles. The Mediterranean climate, the strong Mistral wind and the pronounced day–night temperature variation characterize grape ripening. The location is close to appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueyras.
Awards and recognitions
The winery has received numerous awards and medals in international guides and competitions; among these is being named "Cave Coopérative de l’Année 2024" by Revue des Vins, along with mentions and medals from Decanter, Mundus Vini and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, and citations in Guide Hachette.
