The Cratere Terre Siciliane IGT of Terrazze Dell’Etna is born from vineyards cultivated on the slopes of Mount Etna, a unique terroir that gives the wine a distinct minerality and complexity. This wine expresses the authenticity of the territory thanks to the native grape varieties used, predominantly Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, which find in the volcanic soils an ideal environment to mature with balance and depth.

The aging process involves a patient stay in oak barrels, which imparts structure and a pleasant roundness to the palate, enhancing notes of red fruits, delicate spices, and a slight smoky hint typical of Etna grapes. In the glass, it presents a bright color, intense aromas, and vibrant freshness, accompanied by elegant and refined tannins.

Perfect with game dishes, grilled red meats, or typical Sicilian dishes, this Cratere is a sensory experience that tells the strength and magic of the volcano.

Winery history
Terrazze dell'Etna was born as a family project led by Nino Bevilacqua with the aim of recovering old vineyards, traditional wine presses and terraces in the Etna area. The estate was established in 2008 and developed by restoring the historic structure of the terraces and renovating the traditional production spaces, later integrating modern cellar technologies.
Production philosophy
The winery states an approach that places the land and craftsmanship at the center: respect for the vine’s natural cycle, hands-on work in the terraced vineyards, and a balance of tradition and innovation. Terrazze dell'Etna aims to tell the story of the place through wines that reflect Etna’s volcanic personality, combining artisanal care, aesthetic attention and experimentation.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located on the northwest slope of Mount Etna, within the Etna Natural Park. The vineyards are planted on terraces at various altitudes in contrade such as Bocca d'Orzo, Statella, Calderara and Allegracore; the soils are of volcanic origin and the microclimate is influenced by the proximity of the volcano.
Awards and recognitions
Critical recognition for individual wines, including 5 Grappoli from Bibenda, awards and mentions in guides such as Falstaff and Veronelli for wines like Cirneco, Carusu and il Rosato; the winery publishes an awards section with details by year and by wine.
