Cottanera's Etna Bianco DOC is a white wine that comes from the slopes of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, located on the eastern coast of Sicily, Italy. This region, known for its unique terroir composed of mineral-rich volcanic soils, gives the wines a distinctive minerality and aromatic complexity. Cottanera's Etna Bianco DOC represents the expression of these particular environmental conditions, combined with the winery's careful and sustainable production philosophy.

The wine is typically produced mainly with Carricante grapes, a native grape variety of eastern Sicily, often complemented by small percentages of other local grape varieties such as Catarratto. Carricante is prized for its high acidity and aging potential, characteristics that contribute to the freshness and longevity of the wine.

At sight, Cottanera's Etna Bianco DOC has a light straw yellow color, with greenish reflections. On the nose, the wine expresses a complex and inviting aromatic bouquet, with notes of white pulp fruit such as apple and pear, citrus accents, white flowers, and a distinctive minerality reminiscent of flint or chalk, evidence of the volcanic soil from which the grapes come from.

In the mouth, the wine is lively and fresh, thanks to the well-balanced acidity that brings momentum and drinkability. The flavors reflect the olfactory notes, with a richness of fruit and flowers enriched by a subtle mineral complexity. The finish is clean, with an aromatic persistence that invites another sip.

Cottanera's Etna Bianco DOC pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, in particular fish and seafood cuisine, light pasta dishes, white meats and fresh cheeses. Its freshness and minerality also make it an excellent aperitif.
