The Friulano Friuli Grave DOC from I Magredi is a white wine that captures the essence of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, known for its particularly favorable terroir for viticulture. This wine stands out for its refinement and personality, representing one of the most authentic expressions of the Friulano grape, formerly known as Tocai Friulano.

Visually, the wine exhibits a straw-yellow color with greenish highlights, suggesting the freshness and vitality that will be found on the palate. On the nose, the Friulano Friuli Grave DOC from I Magredi offers a complex and intriguing bouquet, with floral notes of acacia and linden intertwining with hints of white-fleshed fruit, such as pear and apple, enriched by a light touch of fresh almond.

On the palate, the impact is elegant and well-balanced. The acidic freshness harmonizes with a medium-light structure, typical of the varietal. The aftertaste offers a pleasant aromatic persistence that recalls the olfactory sensations, completing the tasting experience with a slightly almondy finish, characteristic of Friulano.

This wine pairs excellently with light appetizers, seafood dishes, and fish-based dishes. Additionally, it goes well with vegetable cuisine and fresh cheeses. Its versatility makes it suitable both for a refined aperitif and as a companion throughout the meal.

Produced with methods that respect the integrity of the fruit and the territory, the I Magredi winery pays careful attention to every detail in the production of this Friulano, from the selection of the grapes to the vinification process, aimed at enhancing the natural qualities of the grape and the terroir it comes from.

Selection of wines: aromatic whites, native reds and sparkling wines Declared sustainability practices: photovoltaic system and phytodepuration of water A family story that began with the purchase in 1968 and the winery's development since the 1990s. Full acquisition by Valdo Spumanti announced in March 2026.
Winery history
The estate has long been linked to the Tombacco family: Otello Tombacco purchased it in 1968 and, in the late 1980s, Michelangelo Tombacco converted the mainly fruit-growing enterprise into a fully fledged winery. The first part of the cellar was constructed in 1990, and the facilities were expanded and modernized several times; since 2018 the site has been undertaking a project for a new production building. In March 2026 the estate was returned to the full control of Valdo Spumanti, which had already held a stake since 2018.
Production philosophy
The winery adopts an approach that combines tradition and innovation: a focus on quality, respect for the land and attention to environmental sustainability. In the vineyard, integrated pest management protocols are applied, and the company has invested in systems for energy production and in winery wastewater treatment.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Grave del Friuli, characterized by coarse alluvial soils and wide stretches of pebbles known as 'magredi'. This terroir, protected in many areas as a Special Area of Conservation, fosters pronounced diurnal temperature variation and the aromatic grapes typical of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
