Description

Aromas of ripe red fruit and dark cherry intertwine with floral hints and a well-defined earthy background, without overlapping. The palate is centered on the balance between fresh acidity and fine tannins, with a savory texture that supports the substance; the body is medium, the structure is sharp but not rough, and the finish leaves a pleasant impression of sweet spices and forest floor. It is a wine that speaks of elegance more than power, suitable both for drinking after a few years of development and for revealing its youthful charm immediately after a short aeration.

Served at around 16–18 °C it pairs well with savory red meats, mushroom dishes and medium-aged cheeses; a light decanting helps it open up without erasing the precise tannic weave that defines its style.

Winery history

The estate traces its origins to Stanislas Sérafin. It was developed by the Sérafin family in Gevrey‑Chambertin and, over subsequent generations, saw its vineyard parcels expanded and its bottles progressively brought to market. Management passed to the next generation, and today the estate is overseen by the third generation: Karine Sérafin and Frédérique Goulley.

Production philosophy

The approach combines respect for the terroir with careful agricultural practices: reduced use of herbicides, attentive soil management and traditional winemaking with barrel aging. The goal is to express the tension and minerality typical of the Côte de Nuits through limited yields and careful aging in wood.

Terroir and vineyards

Vineyards are concentrated in the Côte de Nuits, with parcels also in Chambolle‑Musigny and Morey‑Saint‑Denis. The estate also owns a small plot in the Grand Cru Charmes‑Chambertin.
