The Gigondas 2022 - Le Poste - Chateau Saint Cosme represents an excellent example of how the terroir of Gigondas can express itself through wines. Produced by one of the most respected wineries in the region, this vintage offers an extraordinarily complex and mature sip.

In the glass, the wine presents itself with a deep and captivating red color. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruits immediately emerge, featuring cherry and plum, enriched by hints of spices and a slight note of aromatic herbs, thanks to aging in wood.

On the palate, the Gigondas 2022 reveals a robust yet harmonious structure, with well-integrated tannins that promise good longevity. The balance between acidity and alcohol is impeccable, leading to a long and persistent finish.

This wine pairs beautifully with rich dishes such as meat stews, game-based dishes, or aged cheeses. A SUGGESTION is to decant it for an hour before serving to enhance its complexity. An extraordinary addition to any cellar, destined to evolve beautifully over the years.

Winery history
The estate has been linked to the Barruol family for centuries: official records cite family ties dating back to 1490, and the domaine's homepage displays "Est. 1570". The site preserves Gallo-Roman fermentation vats and was progressively steered toward modern quality under the guidance of Louis Barruol; from the late 1990s the domaine also developed a négociant-vigneron activity.
Production philosophy
The domaine's approach focuses on expressing the terroir through traditional practices and on the careful tending of the parcels; the historic vineyard and soil biodiversity are considered key elements for producing balanced, long-lived wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the heart of the Gigondas appellation, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The Château's vineyards surround the castle and are characterized by limestone and sandy soils and rock outcrops typical of the area.
