This 1997 vintage Barolo grappa from Marolo's Le Grandi Riserve line presents itself as a mature, composed distillate with an aromatic profile that speaks of time. The color leans toward a delicate amber, while the nose unfolds notes of dried fruit, a light touch of tobacco and spicy hints reminiscent of cloves and white pepper, together with subtle vanillary and balsamic accents. The whole is refined, never intrusive, suggesting a long maturation that has softened the spirit's edges.

On the palate it is warm but well balanced: the structure is full, the texture soft and enveloping, with good persistence and aromatic returns that echo the spices and dried fruit, alongside a slightly bitter finish that invites another sip. It is best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass at room temperature or slightly chilled; it pairs nicely with dark chocolate, a mild cigar or aged cheeses, becoming a moment of after-dinner contemplation more than a mere digestif.
