Winery history
The Maurer family has been involved in viticulture for several generations. The current commercial project, led by Oszkár Maurer, took shape with the first vintages recorded around the 1990s. Over the years the winery has reclaimed very old vineyards and expanded its visibility beyond national borders, bringing rare indigenous varieties to the center of its production.
Production philosophy
A natural-wine-focused approach: organic farming, minimal cellar intervention, spontaneous fermentations, and often bottling without or with very low levels of sulfites. The stated aim is to let the grapes and the terroir express their character.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in two main areas: the Srem area and the Subotica wine region, on the Subotica–Horgoš sands.
