This Lagrein Alto Adige DOC from St. Michael Eppan expresses in a balanced way the characteristics associated with the grape and the appellation. In the glass it shows a deep ruby colour with violet highlights; on the nose dark berries — plum, blackberry — can emerge, together with delicate floral notes like violet and light spicy and herbal hints. The approach is composed, without excess; the aromatic framework recalls both ripe fruit and more earthy accents that contribute to complexity without overpowering the overall profile.

On the palate it reveals structure and present but generally well-integrated tannins, supported by freshness that keeps the wine lively and flowing. The persistence is pleasant and invites pairings with flavoursome dishes: roasted or braised meats, mushrooms, medium-aged cheeses and preparations with moderate use of spices. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature not too high to enhance the aromas; a brief decanting can be useful with younger bottles. Suitable for those seeking a territorial, balanced and measured red.
