Le Coste di Monforte Barolo DOCG 2020 by Piero Benevelli presents an immediate yet not predictable character: in the glass it opens with notes of ripe cherry, rose petal and an earthy streak that recalls the forest floor, accompanied by light sweet spices. The whole is committed to a balance between freshness and body: the acidity supports the sip while the tannin, present and well worked, defines the structure without weighing it down. There is precision in the aromatic details and a discreet depth that promises further development over time.

On the palate the wine is savory and consistent with the olfactory impressions; the tannic weave is silky in progression and leaves room for a pleasant persistence, with returns of red fruit and slightly bitter notes that lengthen the finish. It benefits from decanting before service and finds ideal companions in braised meat dishes, stewed game or aged cheeses, offering a convivial sip that can also be contemplative.
