Les Forts de Latour, the second wine from the legendary Château Latour in Pauillac, is positioned as one of the estate's most refined and accessible expressions. This wine represents a pillar in the Bordeaux winemaking tradition, offering a taste of Pauillac's illustrious terroir with a unique perspective. Les Forts de Latour is the result of the careful selection of grapes from the young vineyards of the estate, combining craftsmanship with the richness of the territory.

The varietal composition of Les Forts de Latour relies mainly on Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, thus reflecting the typical structure and complexity of the great Pauillac wines. This blend allows the wine to exhibit a distinctive character, while maintaining a close link with its more famous older brother, the Grand Vin de Château Latour.

To the eye, Les Forts de Latour displays an intense ruby red hue, heralding the depth and richness of the wine. The nose is an inviting symphony of aromas, with dominant notes of ripe red fruit, accents of sweet spices, tobacco and a subtle vein of iron minerality, which is a hallmark of the Pauillac terroir.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates elegant complexity with well-structured tannins and a lively acidity that contributes to excellent freshness. Flavors of cassis, black cherries and a trace of chocolate blend with earthy and cedar notes, leading to a long, lingering finish that leaves an impression of elegance and controlled power.

Les Forts de Latour is known for its remarkable aging potential, evolving beautifully in the bottle and gaining further nuances of complexity and softness as the years pass. Despite this maturation ability, the wine remains incredibly approachable and enjoyable even at a young age, offering a complete tasting experience.

This wine pairs perfectly with rich, structured dishes, such as roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses, where its structure and depth can harmonize beautifully with the complexity of the food's flavours. Les Forts de Latour is a testament to Château Latour's commitment to producing exceptional wines, which embody the spirit and essence of Pauillac.
