Massara Barolo DOCG 2021 by Burlotto Gian Carlo presents the classic profile of Piedmont Nebbiolo: ripe red fruit that fades into floral rose notes and a touch of earthiness, with light spicy nuances that emerge with warmth. The nose is refined and restrained, while the palate impresses with freshness and structure; the tannins are present but well-defined, supported by good acidity that provides tension and extends the drink. It shows a balance between body and elegance, suitable both now with decanting and for maturing gracefully.

On the palate the cleanliness and precision are confirmed: it starts soft, develops a savory backbone and finishes with notes of cherry and a hint of tobacco. The tannic texture, still young, asks for a few minutes in the glass to open up, but does not overpower the drinkability; the acidity gives lift and freshness between sips. Excellent with red meat dishes, roasts and aged cheeses, it should be served around 16–18 °C and, when possible, decanted before enjoying.
