Pfitscher's Merlot Cabernet Riserva "Cortazo" is a red wine that reflects the Pfitscher winery's ability to interpret international grape varieties through the unique terroir of Alto Adige. Located in one of Italy's most fascinating and diverse wine regions, Pfitscher Winery is known for its dedication to quality and innovation in producing wines that express the essence of their natural environment.

"Cortazo" is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet, two varieties which, when grown in the Alpine valleys of Alto Adige, acquire unique characteristics thanks to the cool climate and night-time temperature variations. These conditions contribute to developing an aromatic complexity and freshness that are reflected in the wine, enriching it with nuances and depth.

The "Cortazo" Reserve represents the culmination of Pfitscher's winemaking experience, with grapes selected from the best vineyards and subjected to a careful winemaking process. The refinement in French oak barriques gives the wine an elegant tannic structure and skilfully integrates the varietal notes with touches of spices, vanilla and chocolate, the result of careful maturation.

Visually, the "Cortazo" presents itself with an intense and deep red color. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and complex, characterized by aromas of ripe fruit such as plums and black cherries, enriched by nuances of aromatic herbs, sweet spices and a light balsamic note. The olfactory complexity invites you to explore the depths of the wine, anticipating a rich and satisfying tasting experience.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates an excellent balance between power and elegance. The tannins are ripe and silky, well integrated with the lively acidity that brings freshness and a long aromatic persistence. Dark fruit flavors blend with roasted accents and spice, culminating in a long, harmonious finish.

Ideal in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, game and mature cheeses, the Merlot Cabernet Riserva "Cortazo" by Pfitscher is also a meditation wine, which lends itself to moments of reflection and appreciation for the complexity and beauty of the world of wine.

In conclusion, the "Cortazo" is a tribute to Pfitscher's passion for high-quality viticulture and the winery's ability to create wines that reflect the distinctive character of Alto Adige, offering enthusiasts a tasting experience that is at the same time deeply rooted in the territory and open to new interpretations.
