In the glass it appears compact but not heavy, with a well-defined tannic structure and a freshness that gives lift to the sip. On the nose there are notes of ripe red fruits, a hint of cherry and plum, delicate herbal nuances and a light spiciness that makes the bouquet interesting without forcing it.

On the palate it is balanced, of good structure, with soft but present tannins and a sapidity that cleans the finish, leaving a pleasant and restrained persistence. It pairs well with land-based dishes: white roasts, red meats that are not too fatty, medium-aged cheeses and preparations with mushrooms. Serve at around 16-18 °C, decant briefly if consumed immediately to encourage the opening of the aromas. It is a wine that accompanies everyday conviviality well, maintaining character and drinkability, suitable for those seeking a Merlot with authentic substance but without excess.

Azienda fondata dalla famiglia Raccaro con radici documentate dal 1928. 7 ettari di vigneto situati alle pendici del Monte Quarin (Cormòns). Suoli di 'ponca' (marne e arenarie) che caratterizzano i vini del Collio. Vino simbolo: Collio Friulano 'Vigna del Rolat'. Merlot prodotto in quantità molto ridotte (indicazione di circa 1.500 bottiglie/anno per il Merlot).

Winery history
La storia famigliare inizia con Giuseppe Raccaro che si trasferì ai piedi del Monte Quarin nel 1928. Negli anni successivi la famiglia si specializzò nella viticoltura e il vero salto verso la commercializzazione avvenne negli anni '80, quando Dario Raccaro avviò l'imbottigliamento e concentrò l'attività sulla produzione di vini di qualità, portando avanti la conduzione insieme ai figli.
Production philosophy
L'azienda pratica un'agricoltura attenta al territorio e alla ciclicità della natura, privilegiando interventi che rispettino il suolo e l'ambiente. L'obiettivo dichiarato è ottenere vini schietti e sinceri che riflettano il terroir, privilegiando qualità rispetto a quantità.

Vigneti collocati sulle pendici del Monte Quarin, nel comune di Cormòns (Collio, Goriziano). I suoli sono prevalentemente marne e arenarie chiamate localmente 'ponca', che conferiscono ai vini mineralità e struttura. Le migliori parcelle si trovano tra Cormòns e Brazzano, con piante di età elevata in alcune vigne come la Vigna del Rolàt.
