Montebello is a producer of rhum agricole based in Petit‑Bourg (Guadeloupe). Known for its artisanal production of rhum blanc, ambré and vieux, the Maison (historically Carrère) works sugarcane cultivated and harvested by hand and offers both unaged and aged expressions in ex‑Bourbon and ex‑Cognac barrels.

The story
The production now marketed as Montebello originates from the small Carrère distillery. The Marsolle family has run the business for generations: roots tied to cane cultivation since the late 19th century and development of the Carrère distillery from 1930. Over the years the family management modernized equipment while keeping an artisanal character and introducing barrel aging and bagasse recycling practices.
