A wine with a full, direct character, this Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC from Cirelli shows an intense ruby color with violet highlights. On the nose it is frank and direct: ripe plum, black cherry and a subtle note of underbrush blend with touches of black pepper and a floral hint. On the palate it shows a medium-full body, soft, well-integrated tannins and a balanced acidity that keeps the sip fresh and easy-flowing; the texture is compact without being oppressive, with a pleasant persistence that recalls the fruit.

It lends itself well to everyday drinking but also offers versatility at the table: an ideal companion to pasta with ragù, grilled meats, cured meats and medium-aged cheeses. Serve slightly cool to enhance its drinkability and, if desired, it can gain a few months in bottle to soften any youthful roughness. A solid choice for those seeking a sincere red, generous in fruit and pleasant in the glass.
