The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP Amaranta from Tenuta Ulisse shows an intense ruby colour with violet highlights. On the nose it opens to aromas of ripe red fruit, violet and slight earthy notes that add depth; light spice hints and a touch of liquorice are also detectable. On the palate it has medium body, with present but balanced tannins and a lively acidity that supports the sip. The fruit remains central, accompanied by a saline touch and a persistent finish recalling cherry and black pepper without excess.

It pairs naturally with pasta with meat sauce, roasts, grilled meats and medium-aged cheeses. Serve at about 16–18 °C and a short decanting can help release the aromas. Suitable as an everyday wine for informal occasions, it offers character without overwhelming; it is recommended to enjoy it within the first years after purchase to appreciate the fruit's freshness.
