The Montlouis-sur-Loire Les Tuffeaux Tendre by Francois Chidaine is a white wine that enchants with its elegance and complexity. Originating from the Loire Valley in France, this wine is made exclusively with Chenin Blanc grapes, renowned for their ability to wonderfully reflect the terroir and produce wines with great aromatic intensity.

With a straw yellow color and bright reflections, it offers an intense and varied bouquet on the nose: notes of honey, white-fleshed fruits like peaches and ripe pears, with nuances of white flowers and subtle mineral hints typical of the tuff soil from which it gets its name. On the palate, it presents a balanced mix of vivacity and softness, with a well-integrated acidity that brings freshness and longevity. The texture is creamy, enriched by a delicate sweetness that accompanies the tasting experience towards a persistent and pleasantly aromatic finish.

This wine pairs perfectly with flavorful fish dishes, shellfish, or goat cheeses. It is also an excellent choice to accompany lightly spiced Asian cuisine dishes. An exemplary wine that honorably represents the winemaking tradition of its region.

Winery history
Francois Chidaine is originally from Montlouis-sur-Loire and established his own domaine in the late 1980s, building on the family estate. The project grew gradually: from his settlement in 1989 to the expansion of vineyard parcels in Montlouis, Vouvray and Touraine; conversion to organic farming and the subsequent adoption of biodynamic practices have been central to its development. His wife Manuéla opened the tasting room "La Cave Insolite" on the riverfront in Montlouis.
Production philosophy
Work focused on soil conservation and biodynamics: organic farming practices, use of biodynamic preparations, cover cropping, hand-harvesting with multiple selection passes, and careful winemaking that respects the character of each parcel. The approach favors minimal intervention in the winery and the enhancement of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards are spread across Montlouis‑sur‑Loire, Vouvray and areas within the Touraine appellation, on soils typical of the region including tuffeau, flinty clays and clay‑limestone. The estate has parcels on both banks of the Loire, producing wines that reflect the minerality of the local terroirs.
