The Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG "Purosangue" by Terenzi is an extraordinary specimen that embodies the quintessence of passion and craftsmanship of the Terenzi winery. Located in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, this winery benefits from a unique terroir that imparts a distinctive character and unmistakable charm to the Morellino di Scansano.

The "Purosangue" wine is a meticulous selection of the finest Sangiovese grapes, enriched by a small percentage of other typical local varieties, which add complexity and structure. The Riserva undergoes a period of refinement in French oak barriques that not only tempers the intensity of the fruit but weaves sophisticated notes of spices, vanilla, and chocolate with the natural elegance of Sangiovese.

Visually, the "Purosangue" presents a deep ruby red color, with garnet reflections that evolve with aging. On the nose, the bouquet is rich, with vibrant aromas of ripe fruit such as cherries and plums, followed by intriguing hints of tobacco, aromatic herbs, and damp earth—a clear nod to its growing environment.

On the palate, the wine offers a robust yet harmonious structure, with well-integrated tannins that promise excellent aging potential. The freshness is balanced by a welcoming smoothness, leading to a long and persistent finish that brings back the spicy and fruity notes perceived on the nose.

Perfect to accompany rich dishes such as roasted red meats, game, or aged cheeses, the Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG "Purosangue" by Terenzi is a wine that embodies the wine-making tradition of the Maremma, with a touch of contemporary elegance. Ideal for special evenings or as a prestigious gift for wine lovers, this wine is a true expression of the terroir from which it comes.

Winery history
The Terenzi project originated from the family's investment in the Maremma. After Florio Terenzi's move to the countryside, noted as a family initiative since the 1990s, the operation was organised and developed commercially with the construction of the winery and the planting of new vineyards from 2001; today it is managed by the family, including Balbino, Federico and Francesca Romana.
Production philosophy
A pursuit of elegance and expressive clarity, with Sangiovese at the core and measured experimentation with white and international varieties. Vineyard work is oriented toward sustainability, cellar technology serves quality, and attention is paid to territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the municipality of Scansano in the Tuscan Maremma, the estate benefits from sea breezes and well-drained clay soils. The vineyards extend across hills facing the sea, in a landscape also connected to local cultural projects.
