The Morellino di Scansano DOCG from Terenzi winery is a vivid expression of the Maremma region, characterized by a mosaic of soils that impart a distinctive aromatic complexity to the wine. This wine is primarily made from Sangiovese grapes, locally known as Morellino, reflecting the identity and winemaking traditions of the Tuscany region.

Visually, the Morellino di Scansano from Terenzi exhibits an intense ruby red color, with light garnet reflections that intensify with maturation. The nose offers elegant notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, enhanced by nuances of sweet spices and a slightly herbaceous touch, typical of Sangiovese in this area.

On the palate, the wine reveals a medium body with a harmonious balance between acidic freshness and soft, velvety tannins. The abundant fruitiness blends with a pleasant persistence of spiced aromas and a subtle aftertaste of dark chocolate, completing the tasting experience.

Recommended to accompany hearty dishes from Tuscan cuisine such as roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses, this wine is best served at a temperature of 16-18°C. Additionally, the Morellino di Scansano DOCG from Terenzi has excellent aging potential, allowing one to appreciate its aromatic and taste evolution even several years after the harvest.

This wine not only encapsulates the tradition and character of its territory but is also an example that showcases the meticulous work and passion of Terenzi winery for high-quality wines.

Winery history
The Terenzi project originated from the family's investment in the Maremma. After Florio Terenzi's move to the countryside, noted as a family initiative since the 1990s, the operation was organised and developed commercially with the construction of the winery and the planting of new vineyards from 2001; today it is managed by the family, including Balbino, Federico and Francesca Romana.
Production philosophy
A pursuit of elegance and expressive clarity, with Sangiovese at the core and measured experimentation with white and international varieties. Vineyard work is oriented toward sustainability, cellar technology serves quality, and attention is paid to territorial identity.
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the municipality of Scansano in the Tuscan Maremma, the estate benefits from sea breezes and well-drained clay soils. The vineyards extend across hills facing the sea, in a landscape also connected to local cultural projects.
