Morellino di Scansano Riserva is a red wine that comes from berries from 100% Sangiovese vines, grown on deep soil with coarse sands and deep clays, rich in skeleton, well drained.
The harvest is carried out towards the end of September, followed by vinification with crushing-destemming with partial breaking of the berries. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 27º-28º C, for a period of 7 days, with maceration on the skins with the alcoholic one. The malolactic fermentation occurs naturally in steel while the aging is 12 months in oak barrels and 6 months in the bottle.
In the glass you can admire its beautiful intense ruby red color. Complex and enveloping aromas arrive on the nose, typical hints of ripe red fruit such as cherries and wild sour cherries, with hints of spices. The taste is decidedly full-bodied and full, with a long and persistent finish.
Excellent to combine with succulent meats, roasts, game and medium-aged cheeses.
