The Nebbiolo Rosso Gattinara DOCG 2005 by Torraccia is a wine that embodies the elegance and complexity of the Piedmont terroirs, particularly those of the Gattinara hills, located in the heart of the Lepontine Alps region. Made with Nebbiolo grapes, locally known as Spanna, this wine ages for years in wooden barrels, developing a rich and refined bouquet with notes of withered rose, cherry brandy, sweet spices, and light hints of tobacco. The deep garnet color is accompanied by a full taste, with soft yet well-structured tannins and sustained acidity, qualities that give it longevity and balanced freshness.

Ideal paired with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses, the Nebbiolo by Torraccia is an authentic expression of the local wine tradition, capable of telling the story of the territory and its winemaking vocation year after year.

Winery history
The company's origins date back to the 1950s, when Pierino Piantavigna planted the first vineyards; it was officially established in 1997 by Alessandro Francoli. Over time ownership and management have evolved to include local family collaborations and an expansion of vineyards and production, while maintaining a focus on the viticultural traditions of the Colline Novaresi.
Production philosophy
Showcasing the territory through careful, low-impact viticulture, prioritizing native grape varieties and practices that bring out the character of the soil and climate. The approach combines respect for local tradition with modern winemaking techniques to produce wines with long aging potential.
