Descrizione

The Nebbiolo Rosso Gattinara DOCG 2009 by Torraccia stands out for its elegance and structure, a true expression of the foothill territory of Piedmont. Made with Nebbiolo grapes from vineyards cultivated in the Gattinara area, this wine benefits from an ideal climate and soils rich in sands and porphyries, which give mineral notes and finesse to the product. After a traditional fermentation, the wine matures in large wooden barrels, developing aromatic complexity and harmonious tannins.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby color, while on the nose aromas of withered rose, cherry, sweet spices, and a balsamic delicacy emerge. On the palate, it is enveloping, with a silky tannic texture and a long, persistent finish. Ideal to pair with red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses, it best expresses the tradition and excellence of the Gattinara denomination.

Winery history

The company's origins date back to the 1950s, when Pierino Piantavigna planted the first vineyards; it was officially established in 1997 by Alessandro Francoli. Over time ownership and management have evolved to include local family collaborations and an expansion of vineyards and production, while maintaining a focus on the viticultural traditions of the Colline Novaresi.
