The Niccolaio Maremma Toscana DOC Cabernet Sauvignon by Grillesino stands out as an authentic and refined expression of the Maremma territory, renowned for its mild climatic conditions and mineral-rich soil. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, an international variety that here finds an ideal environment to fully express its structured and aromatic characteristics.

The winemaking process is carefully managed, involving an aging that enhances the soft tannins and the balance between acidity and body. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color, accompanied by complex aromas of ripe wild berries, spicy notes, and hints of vanilla derived from aging in wood. The taste is full, elegant, and persistent, capable of harmoniously accompanying red meat dishes, roasts, and aged cheeses.

The Magnum version adds charm and allows for better wine evolution over time, making it also ideal for storage and special occasions. Every sip tells the passion and respect for the terroir of Tuscany, offering a genuine and memorable sensory experience.

Grillesino – Winery in Toscana

Discover the story and wines of Grillesino.

A Tuscan winery of the Compagnia del Vino group, located in the Maremma (Magliano in Toscana), known for its Morellino di Scansano and for some single-varietal wines such as the Ciliegiolo Nàcchero.
Region: Toscana
Country: Italia
Founded: 1999
Grapes: Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Vermentino, Viognier, Pinot Blanc
Based in Magliano in Tuscany, in the Lower Maremma. Production and promotion of Morellino di Scansano and Sangiovese-based wines. Example of the vinification of pure Ciliegiolo. Technical collaborations with the Università di Agraria di Firenze and French oenological institutes for clonal selection. Part of the Compagnia del Vino group, which oversees production and marketing.
Winery history
A project led by Giancarlo and Saverio Notari that took shape in the late 1990s: the Grillesino estate was established as a production property affiliated with the Compagnia del Vino group and has been developed through vineyard work and expansions of the winery, enhancing selected clones in collaboration with the Università di Agraria di Firenze and the Institut d'Oenologie de Bordeaux.
Production philosophy
Production focused on the typicity of the territory: use of modern winery technologies combined with light filtration treatments to preserve the character of the native grapes; experimentation with clones and varieties to produce wines recognizable as being from the Maremma.
Terroir and vineyards
Magliano in Toscana, Bassa Maremma, with vineyards partly located within the Maremma DOC / Morellino di Scansano appellations.
