The Petit Chablis AOC Grand Calcaire is born in the heart of the Chablis region, in Burgundy, an area famous for its white wines of great elegance. Made exclusively from the Chardonnay grape, this wine perfectly reflects the limestone terroir from which it takes its name: the Grand Calcaire.

In the glass, it presents a bright straw color, with fresh aromas of citrus, green apple, and distinctly clear mineral notes, a distinctive sign of limestone soils. On the palate, it is lively and harmonious, with well-balanced acidity and a persistent, clean finish reminiscent of flint.

Its aging mainly takes place in steel to preserve freshness and aromatic purity intact. It is a perfect wine as an aperitif but pairs excellently with light fish dishes, seafood, and fresh cheeses, embodying the bright and refined essence of Chablis.

Winery history
Grand Calcaire is the result of a collaboration between cousins Dominique Gruhier and Laurent Delaunay. Both come from families with a long winemaking tradition in Burgundy; they launched the label in late 2021 and introduced an initial range based on parcel selection, with the musts vinified at the Domaine de l’Abbaye du Petit Quincy.
Production philosophy
Pursuit of purity and precision: selection of "cool terroir" parcels with soils of Kimmeridgian marl and limestone, to produce Chardonnay that express tension, minerality and freshness.
Terroir and vineyards
Chablis area: vineyards on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone marls that impart mineral character and the wines' typical acidity.
Awards and recognitions
Critic notes included: Chablis Grand Calcaire 2022 received 90 points from Wine Enthusiast; the cuvée Chablis Vaucoupin 2021 scored 90/100 in Neal Martin’s review.
