The Petrucci Melo DOC Orcia, produced by the acclaimed Podere Forte winery, captivates with its authentic expression of the Val d'Orcia terroir, an iconic area of Tuscany known for its breathtaking landscapes and wines of undeniable quality. This wine comes from meticulously cared vineyards, where the perfect balance of climate and soil allows for the production of high-quality Sangiovese grapes, the beating heart of this elegant and structured red wine.

The winemaking process combines traditional methods with technological innovation, always keeping respect for nature and the environment at the forefront. The result is a wine that reflects Podere Forte's philosophy, oriented towards excellence and sustainability. The minimal addition of sulfites and the meticulous use of organic techniques validate the winery's commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Splendidly complex, the Petrucci Melo presents a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals seductive aromas of ripe red fruit, spicy notes of black pepper, and delicate hints of tobacco and cocoa, a result of aging in French oak barrels that enriches the profile without overwhelming the taster. On the palate, the wine is rich, with excellent tannic structure promising good aging potential. The balance between acidity and tannins is sublime, with a persistent finish that leaves a pleasant sensation of elegance and harmony.

Served at a temperature of 18°C, the Petrucci Melo DOC Orcia is the ideal companion for flavorful dishes such as roasts, game, and aged cheeses. This wine not only tells the story of a unique territory but also that of a winery that has made quality and innovation its pillars.

Winery history
Podere Forte was founded as an agricultural project led by Pasquale Forte and developed around the idea of a self-sufficient estate. The estate, operating since 1997, has re-created an integrated farm in the Val d’Orcia where viticulture, olive growing, beekeeping and livestock farming coexist, following organic and biodynamic practices.
Production philosophy
The estate is managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, with attention to soil health, production autonomy and the enhancement of local resources. The approach combines traditional techniques with precision tools in a system called "Sistema Forte," aimed at environmental and social sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the Val d’Orcia, a landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the vineyards are planted on soils rich in schist and clay at varying elevations, which favor typical expressions of Sangiovese and Bordeaux-style blends. The estate also has extensive olive groves and large areas of agricultural land.
