The Pichon Reserve Comtesse 2023 from Pauillac presents a restrained, measured profile without extravagance. In the glass it shows a deep ruby colour; on the nose it offers impressions of red and black fruit, accompanied by more subdued spicy notes and light earthy hints. The persistence is pleasant without pretension and the sip brings its elements together with restraint, inviting attentive tasting rather than immediate declarations. The aromatic progression is driven by a balance of freshness and structure, with tannins that are clearly present but not aggressive.

On the palate it aligns with expectations for a wine of character: the tannic frame supports the drinking experience while the acidity keeps everything lively, allowing pairings with grilled meats, stews and medium-aged cheeses. A light decanting is recommended to encourage aromatic opening; serving temperature 16–18 °C, preferably in larger glasses. It suits both relatively young consumption and cautious cellar ageing over a few years, depending on personal preference. Suitable for convivial meals but also for more formal occasions.
