The Pietramora Sangiovese Riserva Marzeno DOC, produced by the prestigious Zerbina winery, represents one of the finest expressions of Sangiovese from the Emilia-Romagna region. Cultivated in the lively soils of Marzeno, this wine undergoes a meticulously monitored vinification process, followed by a maturation period that further enhances its organoleptic qualities.

Visually, the Pietramora presents itself with an intense ruby red color, which tends to garnet nuances as it ages. The aroma is immediately captured by a complex bouquet, where a rich variety of scents emerges: ripe red fruits, spicy notes of black pepper, and delicate hints of vanilla and tobacco, arising from its stay in oak barrels.

On the palate, the wine exhibits excellent structure, with robust yet finely smoothed tannins that promise a notable longevity. The balance between acidity and alcohol is exemplary, supporting a persistent flavor that revisits the tones of cherry and plum, with a long and pleasantly spiced finish.

Particularly suitable for pairing with robust dishes from Italian cuisine, such as roast red meats, game, and aged cheeses, the Pietramora Sangiovese Riserva also proves to be an excellent companion for challenging tasting evenings, where its evolution in the glass can be appreciated gradually.

This wine not only satisfies enthusiasts in search of authentic Sangiovese but is also a specimen that tells the story and terroir of Marzeno with every sip.

Winery history
The origins of Fattoria Zerbina are rooted in the hills of Marzeno. Winemaking began when Vincenzo Geminiani purchased the land and planted the first vines. In the years that followed, family stewardship and a commitment to quality, under the leadership of Cristina Geminiani, brought the estate growing recognition on the regional and national wine scene.
Production philosophy
An approach that combines respect for tradition with research: careful vineyard management, focused winemaking and a commitment to quality without shortcuts. The estate aims to express the character of the terroir through structured wines, reserve bottlings and premium passito wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the hills of Marzeno, on the lower slopes of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, mainly on hillside soils planted to alberello training. The setting offers exposures and soils that are interpreted through winemaking tied to each individual cru.
