Scacco Matto is an Albana Passito DOCG in a 375-ml format signed by Fattoria Zerbina, compact and pleasantly approachable. In the glass it shows a deep amber color with golden highlights that invite a sip. On first approach it opens with aromas of dried and dehydrated fruit, apricot and fig, underscored by light honey and notes of candied citrus peel that balance the sweetness. The aromatic profile remains clean and not overly heavy, expressing a controlled sweetness thanks to a lively acidic spine and a saline sapidity that gives lift.

On the palate it is soft and enveloping, with a structure that well supports the residual sugar; the texture is silky and the finish long, without feeling heavy. It is suited to close a meal with cream-based desserts or dried fruit, but also pairs excellently with blue cheeses or dry pastries. Serve chilled, in small glasses, to better appreciate the balance between sweetness and freshness.

Winery history
The origins of Fattoria Zerbina are rooted in the hills of Marzeno. Winemaking began when Vincenzo Geminiani purchased the land and planted the first vines. In the years that followed, family stewardship and a commitment to quality, under the leadership of Cristina Geminiani, brought the estate growing recognition on the regional and national wine scene.
Production philosophy
An approach that combines respect for tradition with research: careful vineyard management, focused winemaking and a commitment to quality without shortcuts. The estate aims to express the character of the terroir through structured wines, reserve bottlings and premium passito wines.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the hills of Marzeno, on the lower slopes of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, mainly on hillside soils planted to alberello training. The setting offers exposures and soils that are interpreted through winemaking tied to each individual cru.
