Elizabeth Spencer's Pinot Noir ExS Sonoma Coast is a red wine that combines the typical lightness and finesse of the Pinot Noir variety with the fresh influence of the Sonoma Coast. It displays a clear color with ruby highlights and a subtle aromatic texture. On the nose there are scents of small red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by light floral notes and spicy hints. The aromatic profile remains elegant and inviting without feeling heavy.

On the palate it shows light to medium body, soft tannins and a lively acidity that supports the drinking experience. The finish is clean and persistent, suitable to accompany dishes such as white meats, more flavorful preparations of fish, mushrooms and soft cheeses. Recommended serving temperature: 14–16 °C; open shortly before serving to appreciate its delicacy. An interesting option for those who prefer refined, easy-to-pair wines.

Winery history

Founded by business and life partners Elizabeth Pressler and Spencer Graham, Elizabeth Spencer released its first label in 1998. In 2006 the winery moved its operations into the historic 1872 brick post office building in Rutherford, converting it into a tasting room and an inviting garden. In 2021 Elizabeth Spencer joined the Boisset Collection, maintaining its winemaking identity under new ownership.

Production philosophy

Small-batch production with an artisanal approach; wines crafted to be elegant, balanced and enjoyable with food, intended to express the purity of the fruit and the character of their appellations of origin.
