The Pouilly-Fuissé of Trènel is a distinct example of this renowned southern Burgundy appellation, precisely from the Mâconnais region. Trènel, with its history and passion for Burgundian viticulture, is dedicated to the production of wines that express the essence of the terroir and the grape variety, in this case Chardonnay, which finds in Pouilly-Fuissé an expression of great elegance and complexity.

Pouilly-Fuissé is famous for its high-quality white wines, which stand out for their structure, aromatic richness and aging capacity. The calcareous and clayey soils, together with the temperate climate, create the ideal conditions for the cultivation of Chardonnay, giving the wine a characteristic minerality and aromatic complexity that make it unique.

Trènel's Pouilly-Fuissé follows careful vinification, aimed at preserving the integrity and freshness of the fruit. Fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel containers or oak barriques, depending on the oenological choices, to enhance the natural qualities of the Chardonnay and add depth and nuances to the wine without overloading it.

At sight, the Pouilly-Fuissé of Trènel presents itself with a brilliant golden yellow color, which announces its richness. On the nose, the wine offers a complex and seductive bouquet, with notes of white pulp fruit, such as peach and pear, accents of white flowers, vanilla and an evident minerality that reflects the expression of the terroir. In the mouth, the wine demonstrates notable concentration and structure, balanced by a lively acidity that gives freshness and dynamism to the palate. The flavors of ripe fruit are integrated with touches of butter, hazelnut and minerals, in a harmonious and persistent whole, which culminates in a long and satisfying finish.

Perfect to accompany refined dishes of fish, shellfish, poultry in a creamy sauce and goat's cheese, Trènel's Pouilly-Fuissé is also an excellent choice as a meditation wine, capable of offering a rich and engaging tasting experience that underlines the elegance and complexity of Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay.

Winery history
La Maison Trénel was founded in 1928 and developed as a négociant and producer of wines from the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, alongside artisanal production of fruit creams and distillates. In 2015 the property became part of the M. Chapoutier portfolio, which renewed focus on the quality of the Maison’s winemaking and the terroirs it works.
Production philosophy
The estate favors the authentic expression of fruit and terroir: it sources selected grapes, employs focused winemaking, and emphasizes regional typicity rather than overly technical styles. It also maintains a tradition of artisanal fruit liqueurs from Burgundy.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Charnay-lès-Mâcon, it operates primarily in the Mâconnais and in areas of the Beaujolais. Some technical sheets indicate siliciclastic/clayey soils and east- to south-facing exposures for specific vineyards used for the Beaujolais Villages.
