The Pouilly-Vinzelles AOC "Les Quarts" by Trènel is a refined and distinctive expression of the Chardonnay grape, grown in the selected vineyards of Pouilly-Vinzelles, one of the renowned appellations of southern Burgundy, France. The Maison Trènel, known for its dedication to the production of wines that reflect the essence and complexity of the Burgundian terroir, continues with "Les Quarts" the tradition of creating high quality white wines, which express the characteristics with elegance and finesse unique to Chardonnay in this specific area.

Pouilly-Vinzelles, bordering the more well-known appellation of Pouilly-Fuissé, benefits from a temperate climate and calcareous and clayey soils which give the wines a marked minerality and a balanced structure. "Les Quarts", in particular, comes from a carefully selected plot, where the Chardonnay vines enjoy optimal exposure and an ideal microclimate for the ripening of the grapes.

The vinification of "Les Quarts" follows a respectful approach to traditions, with the aim of enhancing the purity of the fruit and the distinctive minerality of the terroir. After delicate pressing of the grapes, the must ferments in oak barriques, where the wine matures for a variable period depending on the vintage, acquiring complexity, toasted notes and a subtle creaminess that integrates harmoniously with the lively acidity and freshness of Chardonnay.

Visually, "Les Quarts" presents itself with a bright golden yellow color. On the nose, the bouquet is rich and complex, with aromas of white pulp fruit, such as peach and pear, enriched by nuances of white flowers, honey and an elegant touch of vanilla and sweet spices, the result of aging in wood. In the mouth, the wine reveals an extraordinary harmony between aromatic intensity and freshness, with a balanced structure and pronounced minerality that define its distinctive character. The flavors of ripe fruit and lightly toasted notes lead to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a sensation of elegance and depth.

Ideal in combination with refined fish dishes, shellfish, poultry in a creamy sauce and goat's cheese, the Pouilly-Vinzelles AOC "Les Quarts" by Trènel is also an excellent choice as a meditation wine, capable of offering a tasting experience that exalts the virtues of Chardonnay grown in one of its best territorial expressions in Burgundy.

Winery history
La Maison Trénel was founded in 1928 and developed as a négociant and producer of wines from the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, alongside artisanal production of fruit creams and distillates. In 2015 the property became part of the M. Chapoutier portfolio, which renewed focus on the quality of the Maison’s winemaking and the terroirs it works.
Production philosophy
The estate favors the authentic expression of fruit and terroir: it sources selected grapes, employs focused winemaking, and emphasizes regional typicity rather than overly technical styles. It also maintains a tradition of artisanal fruit liqueurs from Burgundy.
Terroir and vineyards
Based in Charnay-lès-Mâcon, it operates primarily in the Mâconnais and in areas of the Beaujolais. Some technical sheets indicate siliciclastic/clayey soils and east- to south-facing exposures for specific vineyards used for the Beaujolais Villages.
