Quinta Do Vesuvio in magnum format offers a red wine intended for convivial occasions. Present in the glass, it displays an aromatic profile recalling ripe red fruits, subtle spicy notes and hints of undergrowth, without insisting on precise definitions. On the palate it shows a balanced structure, present but integrated tannins and a fruit-driven return accompanied by pleasant persistence. The magnum bottle favors slower development and makes the wine ideal for longer gatherings or occasions where one wants to serve multiple portions from the same bottle.

Recommended serving temperature around 16–18°C and the use of wide glasses to appreciate the aromas. Classic pairings include roasted meats, mushroom-based dishes, aged cheeses and traditional recipes, with personal preferences to be taken into account. Store in a cool place away from heat sources; the magnum format is particularly suitable if the wine is to be consumed over several occasions or for shared dinners.

Winery history
The property has a recorded history dating back to 1565. Winemaking began in the 19th century, with significant vineyard plantings in its early decades and the winery constructed in 1827. In 1989 the estate was acquired by Symington Family Estates, which incorporated it into its portfolio while preserving its historical identity and its production of Port and Douro DOC wines.
Production philosophy
It combines respect for the region’s traditions with targeted investments in winemaking and in the expression of the terroir. Since 2007 the estate has expanded its range with Douro DOC wines that showcase indigenous varieties and a pronounced expression of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
Located in the Douro Superior, about 120 km east of Porto and close to the border with Spain, the estate sits amid terraced vineyards characterized by a dry climate, pronounced diurnal temperature variation and mixed soils that profoundly influence the style of the wines and Ports produced.
