The Refosco Peduncolo Rosso di Cialla in Magnum format, presented in an elegant wooden case by Ronchi di Cialla, represents a sublime example of how dedication and passion for native varieties can lead to the production of wines of exceptional quality and character. Ronchi di Cialla, a pioneer winery in the valorization of the native varieties of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, has been committed since its foundation to the recovery and promotion of Refosco Peduncolo Rosso, a grape variety that best expresses the peculiarities of the Cialla terroir.

The Magnum format, equivalent to two standard bottles, not only emphasizes the importance and stature of this wine but also contributes to a more harmonious maturation, allowing Refosco to further develop its aromatic complexity and structure over time. The wooden case presentation adds a touch of prestige, making it a perfect gift for wine enthusiasts or a valuable addition to any collection.

This Refosco Peduncolo Rosso di Cialla stands out for its intense ruby red color, with purple hues that testify to its liveliness. On the nose, it offers a rich bouquet of aromas ranging from notes of ripe berries, such as blackberries and currants, to nuances of spices, aromatic herbs and a light mineral vein, characteristics that reflect the authentic expression of the vine and its environment of growth.

In the mouth, the wine is vigorous and structured, with well-present but ripe tannins that integrate harmoniously with the natural acidity, ensuring a perfect balance. Black fruit flavors combine with earthy and spicy notes, leading to a long, lingering finish that leaves a lasting impression of elegance and strength.

Ideal in combination with robust dishes of regional cuisine, such as grilled red meats, game and mature cheeses, the Refosco Peduncolo Rosso di Cialla in Magnum format is also an excellent companion for moments of conviviality and celebration, where its richness and depth can be fully appreciated.

With this wine, Ronchi di Cialla not only celebrates one of the most characteristic and fascinating varieties of Friuli-Venezia Giulia but also demonstrates its commitment to preserving the wine-growing biodiversity of the region, offering wine lovers the opportunity to discover the beauty and complexity of the Refosco Peduncolo Rosso.

Winery featured by importers and international technical data sheets.
Winery history
The Rapuzzi family founded the estate in 1970 in the small Cialla valley, restoring local vineyards and helping to save Schioppettino when the variety was nearly lost. In the 1970s and 1980s the winery perfected the recovery of vine cuttings, produced the first vintages of Schioppettino and received recognition that brought Cialla’s wines to international auctions. The denomination and boundaries of the Cialla cru were officially established by ministerial acts and regulations in subsequent years, consolidating the estate’s reputation as a custodian of Friulian indigenous varieties.
Production philosophy
The estate works exclusively with native grape varieties, favoring controlled yields, selective harvesting and minimal agronomic interventions. In the cellar, winemaking is kept as natural as possible and wines undergo extended ageing — including in wood — to achieve long-lived wines with a strong expression of terroir. Biodiversity protection and low-impact practices are integral to the production method.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the Cialla valley, a small hilly amphitheatre overlooking the Colli Orientali del Friuli, characterized by a tempered microclimate between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps and by marly, well-stratified soils that favor the cultivation of local indigenous varieties. The area is officially recognized as the cru CIALLA for certain traditional varieties.
