The Romagna Sangiovese DOC Predappio "Notturno" produced by Tenuta La Palazza is an exemplar that captures the essence of one of the most esteemed wine regions of Emilia-Romagna. This red wine is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, the hallmark variety of the region, harvested from the fertile vineyards of Predappio, a locality known for its centuries-old winemaking tradition and rich soils that impart unique characteristics to the wine.

Tenuta La Palazza's "Notturno" is an intense ruby red wine, with reflections that range from purple to violet depending on the light. On the nose, it stands out for its rich aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, complemented by spicy nuances and a slight oakiness due to aging in wooden barrels. The olfactory complexity is also reflected on the palate, where the tannic structure is well-balanced by freshness and a remarkable aromatic persistence.

On the palate, the "Notturno" reveals itself as full-bodied and enveloping, with a soft entry that evolves into a long and pleasantly bitter finish, typical of Sangiovese. This wine is ideal for accompanying robust dishes of the Emilia-Romagna cuisine, such as tagliatelle with wild boar ragù or piadina with sausage and squacquerone, but it also pairs well with aged cheeses or roasted red meats.

The winemaking process follows traditional methods that highlight the territorial and varietal identity, maintaining a balance between modern oenological techniques and respect for tradition. The result is a wine that can be appreciated immediately but also has excellent aging potential.

The "Romagna Sangiovese DOC Predappio - Notturno" by Tenuta La Palazza is, therefore, a wine that combines tradition and quality, destined to seduce wine lovers who seek authenticity and character.

Winery history
Tenuta La Palazza is owned by the Drei Donà family and was transformed beginning in the 1980s by Claudio Drei Donà into an estate dedicated to producing highly expressive wines. The family replanted vineyards, introduced international grape varieties and developed iconic wines such as Magnificat and Il Tornese, establishing the current winery and a production recognized both nationally and internationally.
Production philosophy
The winery pursues a vision aimed at fully expressing the character of the territory: rigor in the vineyard and cellar, manual harvesting with grape selection, parcel-by-parcel vinifications, use of indigenous yeasts, extended ageing in wood and amphorae, and respect for the balance between tradition and innovation.
Terroir and vineyards
Located on the hills of Romagna, in the DOC Predappio subzone and in the area around Forlì/Predappio, the estate benefits from soils typical of the Rabbi and Predappio valleys, which particularly enhance the local Sangiovese.
