Piasa is the rosé wine from Cordero San Giorgio, made from Croatina grapes grown in Oltrepò Pavese, in the province of Pavia. The vineyards are located in Santa Giuletta, on predominantly clay soils, and the vines are around 30 years old on average. This single-variety wine highlights a distinctly fruity and fragrant character, expressing the identity of its Lombardy terroir.
In the glass, Piasa shows an intense, bright cherry-pink colour. The bouquet is rich in small red berries, with notes of raspberry and wild strawberry, complemented by fresh floral aromas of violet and rose. On the palate, it is fruity and well balanced by lively freshness and pleasant sapidity. Its generous body and lingering finish complete a rich and fragrant tasting profile. Piasa pairs perfectly with charcuterie, light cheeses, grilled meats and pizza. It is also an excellent match for shellfish, fried anchovies and fried fish.
