Salvioni’s Rosso di Montalcino DOC is a red wine identified by the appellation stated in its name. The available information does not specify a vintage, grape varieties, an aromatic profile or winemaking methods; this description therefore remains deliberately restrained and does not attribute unverified sensory characteristics to the wine. It is an option for those looking for a red wine associated with a recognised appellation, while leaving its style and details to be confirmed by the technical sheet and tasting.

At the table, it can be paired, depending on the menu and personal preference, with savoury pasta dishes, meat and cheese. These are general suggestions to adapt to the bottle and occasion. It may feature in a convivial meal or in a selection of red wines. For a more informed purchase, it is useful to check the vintage and consult the producer’s or retailer’s up-to-date information, especially if details about body, serving or storage are important.

Discover the story and wines of Salvioni – Azienda Agricola La Cerbaiola di Salvioni Giulio.

Family winery in Montalcino producing Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.
Region: Tuscany — Montalcino, Province of Siena
Country: Italy
Winery history
The family’s winemaking tradition is associated with Umberto Salvioni. His son Giulio developed the business; the first Brunello di Cerbaiola came from the 1985 vintage. David and Alessia later joined the family winery.
Production philosophy
The winery follows a traditional approach and focuses on grape quality. Rosso di Montalcino is produced when the harvest is abundant or when the grapes are not used for Brunello.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards lie southeast of the Montalcino hill, at about 420–440 metres above sea level, in a well-ventilated area. The soils are galestro. The winery also states that its Rosso is 100% Sangiovese Grosso.
