Rosso di Montalcino DOC "Rossofonte" by Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is a superb expression of Sangiovese, cultivated in the fertile and history-rich lands of Montalcino, an area recognized worldwide for the production of red wines of extraordinary quality. The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona winery, with its deep connection to the territory and a history dating back to the 17th century, is famous for the high quality of its wines, which are an authentic reflection of Montalcino's terroir and passion for viticulture.

"Rossofonte" is made entirely with Sangiovese Grosso grapes, the same variety used for Brunello di Montalcino, but intended for earlier consumption, while maintaining high quality and complexity. This wine is the result of a careful selection of the grapes, which, once they have reached optimal ripeness, are harvested manually to guarantee maximum integrity of the fruit.

The vinification of "Rossofonte" involves the use of modern techniques that respect local traditions, with the aim of preserving the freshness and varietal expressiveness of Sangiovese. The wine is aged in oak barrels for a period that varies depending on the vintage, allowing for perfect integration between the fruity and woody notes, adding complexity to the wine without overpowering its original characteristics.

At sight, "Rossofonte" presents itself with an intense ruby red color, which heralds a rich and enveloping nose. On the nose, it opens with a bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, accompanied by floral notes, sweet spices and a light touch of tobacco and leather, typical of well-matured Sangiovese.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates extraordinary elegance and balance, with fine and well-integrated tannins that support a solid but not aggressive structure. The lively acidity helps to keep the palate fresh, leading towards a long and persistent finish, with a pleasant evocation of the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose.

Rosso di Montalcino "Rossofonte" by Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona is a wine that pairs beautifully with traditional Tuscan cuisine, dishes based on red meat, game and mature cheeses. This label offers an opportunity to approach the complexity and elegance of Montalcino wines, while at the same time being accessible and capable of offering a profound tasting experience.
