The Rosso DOC Sicilia "L'Ardenza" by Cottanera represents a distinctive example of high quality and innovation in Sicilian wine production. Located at the foot of Etna, the Cottanera winery takes advantage of a unique terroir, characterized by volcanic soils and an ideal microclimate, to cultivate native and international vines, giving life to wines of extraordinary expressiveness and depth.

"L'Ardenza" is a bold blend that combines the power and structure of Merlot with the spiciness and liveliness of Syrah, enriched by the personality of Nerello Mascalese, an indigenous Etna grape variety that adds elegance and complexity to the wine. This combination creates a unique aromatic profile and a well-balanced tannic structure, testifying to Cottanera's ability to blend tradition and innovation.

The vinification of "L'Ardenza" follows careful protocols to preserve the varietal characteristics and the expression of the terroir. After controlled maceration and fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barriques, where it is enriched with toasted and vanilla notes that blend harmoniously with the fruit, without overpowering it.

At sight, "L'Ardenza" presents itself with a deep ruby red color, which preludes the olfactory and gustatory complexity of the wine. On the nose, intense aromas of red and black fruits emerge, such as cherries, blackberries and blueberries, accompanied by nuances of spices, chocolate and a subtle touch of tobacco and leather, the result of the elegant passage in wood.

In the mouth, the wine is rich and enveloping, with a perfect harmony between acidity and soft tannins which guarantee pleasant drinking and a long finish. The fruity notes are intertwined with spicy and balsamic accents, making "L'Ardenza" a wine of great charm and persistence.

Ideal to accompany structured dishes of Sicilian and international cuisine, such as grilled red meats, roasts, mushroom-based dishes and mature cheeses, Cottanera's Rosso DOC Sicilia "L'Ardenza" is a tribute to the wine-growing richness of the island, offering a a tasting experience that enchants with its balance, intensity and depth.
