Rum Don Papa, unlike the "classic" Rums, is a distillate produced with quality raw materials grown in the Philippine islands. Sugar cane is in fact cultivated in the fertile soil near the Mount Kanlaon volcano.
After careful and accurate craftsmanship of the sugar cane, this is followed by a distillation carried out to perfection under the careful supervision of expert Master Distillers; the best noble woods are also selected for refinement.
In detail, this Rum is aged for at least 7 years, which contributes to determining the wonderful bright amber color of this spirits.
On the nose, light fruity notes of quince and date are evident, wonderfully mixed with spicy nuances of vanilla and honey, hints of toasted hazelnut and milk chocolate.
Combining it with cola to create the well-known Coca & Rum combination is certainly a guarantee, but tasting it alone is equally special. When tasted it offers a round and soft sip, which evolves into a long and very pleasant hint of apple jam.

Distillation
For the range: primarily column distillation (reported for many expressions); some special/infused editions (e.g. Masskara) use pot still infusion/distillation.
Ageing
Aging in American oak barrels (ex-bourbon / ex-Rioja) in the tropical climate of Negros island; special editions receive sherry cask finishes and extended maturations (10-year releases, Rare Cask, Sherry Cask).
