Sakurao Original is a Japanese spirit that captures the essence and spirit of the Hiroshima region, where it is crafted by hand. This gin, packaged in an elegantly cased 70cl bottle, pays homage to the rich local flora, highlighted by the use of indigenous botanicals gathered near the distillery.
Produced in small batches, Sakurao Original employs traditional Japanese distillation methods and rare botanicals such as cherry blossom leaves, Hiroshima citrus, and green tea. The combination of these ingredients produces a distinctive and captivating aromatic profile. On the nose, there are vibrant citrus notes and a slight floral touch that anticipates an exciting olfactory experience.
On the palate, Sakurao Original is complex and layered. It starts with a fresh and slightly citrusy note, followed by a softer and rounder sensation of herbs and spices, with a particularly pleasing hint of pink pepper and yuzu. The finish is clean and lingering, with a light astringency reminiscent of green tea, leaving an aftertaste that invites another sip.
