The Sangiovese di Romagna DOC Riserva Nonno Rico from Azienda Vinicola Poderi Morini offers a straightforward expression of the region's Sangiovese. In a medium ruby hue, the nose presents notes of ripe cherry and small red berries, accompanied by light herbal hints and a touch of spice; overall restrained rather than exuberant. On the palate it shows a focused structure, pleasant freshness and well-integrated tannins that support the sip without dominating, with a linear, persistent finish inviting another taste.

It pairs easily with traditional Emilia-Romagna dishes such as pasta with ragù, flavorful white meats and semi-firm cheeses; it is also suitable for informal convivial moments. Recommended serving temperature is around 16–18 °C and larger glasses are suggested to enhance the aromatic profile. The bottle presentation is sober, suited to everyday use as well as shared occasions, leaving the consumer free to judge its evolution over time according to personal preference.

Winery history
Poderi Morini was established in 1998. The first wines were the Sangiovese Riserva “Nonno Rico” and the passito “L’Innamorato”. From the start the estate focused on recovering Romagna native varieties and artisanal production; collaborators named include agronomist Luciano Lusa and oenologist Maurizio Castelli. The company website notes founder Alessandro Morini was recognized as an ambassador of Romagna wine during Vinitaly’s 50th year.
Production philosophy
"We add value to the Romagna we love." The estate combines attention to terroir and native varieties with a strong artistic component: artist-signed labels and a vision of the terroir as a 'blank canvas' where the vines express colours, aromas and flavours.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards root between the yellow sands of the 'Sabbie di Imola' and the 'Blue Clays', in the transition strip between the foothills and the low hills of Oriolo in the Faenza area. The estate describes the terroir as fresh and savory, influenced by the Adriatic breeze and Apennine winds.
