The Sangiovese Romagna Superiore DOC "Leggiolo" from Calonga winery represents the pure and intense expression of the Sangiovese variety cultivated in the Romagna area. This wine stands out for its bold character, with an alcohol content that underscores its maturity and robustness. On the nose, "Leggiolo" offers a rich aromatic palette, dominated by notes of ripe cherry, plum, and earthy spice nuances such as tobacco and leather, typical of the Sangiovese variety.

On the palate, it is vigorous and full-bodied, with well-balanced tannins that promise excellent longevity. Its acidity is lively, making it particularly suitable for pairing with robust red meat dishes, such as braised or roasted meats, as well as aged cheeses. Its finesse is enhanced by a light passage in wood that adds further complexity and smooths out the harsher edges.

Producing a Sangiovese Romagna Superiore DOC of this quality requires dedication and passion, which the Calonga winery has demonstrated by cultivating its vineyards with sustainable methods that respect the Romagna wine-growing environment. "Leggiolo" is undoubtedly a wine that tells the story of the land from which it comes with every sip, offering a profound and memorable tasting experience.
