Pfitscher's Sauvignon Blanc Riserva "Mathias" DOC is a jewel of South Tyrolean oenology, a celebration of the excellence achieved by the Pfitscher winery in the production of high quality white wines. Located in the enchanting region of Alto Adige, the Pfitscher winery takes advantage of the cool, mountain climate and mineral-rich soils to grow Sauvignon Blanc grapes that fully express the varietal characteristics and unique terroir of this area.

Dedicated to Mathias Pfitscher, an emblematic figure in the family's winemaking history, this reserve wine is the result of a careful selection of the best Sauvignon Blanc grapes, coming from particularly suitable vineyards. The meticulous attention in the vineyard and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices ensure an excellent quality raw material, fundamental for the production of a wine of this stature.

The vinification of the "Mathias" Reserve involves delicate fermentation, followed by aging in oak barriques which lasts approximately 12 months. This process not only enriches the wine with complexity and structure, but also allows for the development of an elegant integration between the fruity and vegetal notes typical of Sauvignon Blanc and the toasted and spicy nuances given by the wood.

Visually, the wine has an intense straw yellow color, with golden reflections that underline its richness. On the nose, it opens with a complex and layered aromatic profile, dominated by notes of ripe tropical fruit, citrus, fresh grass and hints of pepper, enriched by touches of vanilla, smoke and sweet spices deriving from the elegant passage in barrique.

In the mouth, "Mathias" reveals great impact and persistence, with a balanced structure and lively acidity which enhance its freshness and drinkability. The aromatic richness perceived on the nose is confirmed with intense and clean flavours, which evolve into a long and savory mineral finish, testifying to the great aging capacity of this wine.

Ideal as an accompaniment to refined dishes of fish, shellfish, hard cheeses and white meats, Pfitscher's Sauvignon Blanc Riserva "Mathias" DOC is a superlative expression of how Sauvignon Blanc can reach heights of excellence when interpreted with passion, dedication and respect for the territory.
