The Sauvignon Langhe DOC by Marchesi di Grésy is a white wine that masterfully enhances the qualities of the Sauvignon Blanc grape, interpreted through the unique terroir of the Langhe, in Piedmont. This region, famous mainly for its prestigious red wines, once again demonstrates its versatility and ability to also produce excellent quality whites. Marchesi di Grésy, an estate with a long history and a solid reputation for producing high-end wines, employs in-depth knowledge of the terroir and meticulous attention in the vineyard to cultivate Sauvignon Blanc that reflects the peculiarities of the terroir.

The choice to grow Sauvignon Blanc in the Langhe allows Marchesi di Grésy to exploit the climatic characteristics and unique soils of the area to obtain a wine that combines freshness and aromatic complexity. Winemaking is carefully managed to preserve the distinctive varietal aromas and expression of the territory, with temperature-controlled fermentation followed by a short refinement in steel, aimed at maintaining the purity and liveliness of the wine.

The Sauvignon Langhe DOC by Marchesi di Grésy has a brilliant straw yellow colour, an expression of its youth and freshness. On the nose, the wine offers an intense and complex aromatic bouquet, with evident notes of white pulp fruit, citrus, and vegetal nuances typical of Sauvignon Blanc, such as fresh cut grass and green pepper, enriched by mineral touches that reflect the composition of the soil of the Langhe.

In the mouth, the wine is characterized by a lively acidity which enhances its freshness and makes it extremely drinkable. The fruit aromas and vegetal notes blend in a harmonious balance, leading to a persistent and clean finish, with a pleasant minerality that invites another sip.

Ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to light dishes, salads, fish and seafood, the Sauvignon Langhe DOC by Marchesi di Grésy is a wine that amazes with its elegance and complexity, offering a pleasant interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc in a Piedmontese key. Its ability to combine varietal typicality with the expressiveness of the terroir makes it an interesting specimen for lovers of white wines looking for new tasting experiences.

Winery history
The estate of Tenute Cisa Asinari has been linked to the di Grésy family since the 18th century; the family has owned the Martinenga cru since 1797. Winemaking under the Grésy label in its modern form was begun by Alberto di Grésy around 1973, when the family decided to produce wine exclusively from their own grapes and to promote wines that expressed the identity of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
The estate places great emphasis on vineyard care and on respecting the grape varieties and tradition: winemaking aims to enhance the terroir’s expression without altering it, producing elegant, balanced wines that reflect the character of each vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The estates are located across the Langhe and Monferrato and include Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, La Serra and Monte Colombo. Martinenga is regarded as one of the area’s finest geographical indications, and the grapes from all the estates are generally vinified at the Martinenga winery.
