The Schioppettino di Cialla in Jeroboam format, presented in a wooden case by Ronchi di Cialla, is an extraordinary example of Friulian wine excellence, dedicated to celebrating one of the most prestigious and distinctive native vines of the region: Schioppettino. This wine, produced in limited quantities, reflects the commitment of the Ronchi di Cialla winery in valorising local varieties and preserving the winemaking traditions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The choice of a Jeroboam format, equivalent to four standard bottles, is not only a celebration of special occasions, but also underlines the importance of this wine in the Ronchi di Cialla range, as well as promoting optimal aging thanks to the greater mass of liquid and to the lower surface-to-volume ratio, which modulates the evolution of the wine over time.

Schioppettino di Cialla, coming from the area of the same name recognized for its ideal microclimate and soils that enhance the peculiarities of this vine, is the result of a scrupulous selection of grapes and a vinification that aims to express the aromatic complexity and elegant structure of the Schioppettino. The refinement in wood, expertly balanced, helps to integrate the tannins and enrich the wine with spicy nuances without overpowering the fruit.

Visually, the wine has an intense and deep red color, with violet reflections that underline its youth and vitality. On the nose, Schioppettino di Cialla offers a complex and inviting aromatic bouquet, with notes of berries, black pepper, violets and a light touch of vanilla, which reflect the distinctive characteristics of the grape variety and the influence of aging in wood.

In the mouth, the wine is characterized by a robust but elegant structure, with fine tannins and a well-balanced acidity that supports its freshness and drinkability. The flavors of blackberry, raspberry and spices intertwine in a harmonious whole, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of complexity and satisfaction.

Ideal in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as grilled red meats, game and mature cheeses, the Schioppettino di Cialla in Jeroboam format is also an excellent option for celebrating important events or as a prestigious gift for wine enthusiasts, offering an unforgettable tasting experience that enhances the richness and uniqueness of the Friulian wine heritage.

With its Schioppettino di Cialla Jeroboam, Ronchi di Cialla once again demonstrates the excellence and passion that characterize the winery's production, celebrating one of the oenological jewels of Friuli-Venezia Giulia with a wine that is testimony to history, tradition and of wine innovation in the region.

Winery history
The Rapuzzi family founded the estate in 1970 in the small Cialla valley, restoring local vineyards and helping to save Schioppettino when the variety was nearly lost. In the 1970s and 1980s the winery perfected the recovery of vine cuttings, produced the first vintages of Schioppettino and received recognition that brought Cialla’s wines to international auctions. The denomination and boundaries of the Cialla cru were officially established by ministerial acts and regulations in subsequent years, consolidating the estate’s reputation as a custodian of Friulian indigenous varieties.
Production philosophy
The estate works exclusively with native grape varieties, favoring controlled yields, selective harvesting and minimal agronomic interventions. In the cellar, winemaking is kept as natural as possible and wines undergo extended ageing — including in wood — to achieve long-lived wines with a strong expression of terroir. Biodiversity protection and low-impact practices are integral to the production method.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in the Cialla valley, a small hilly amphitheatre overlooking the Colli Orientali del Friuli, characterized by a tempered microclimate between the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps and by marly, well-stratified soils that favor the cultivation of local indigenous varieties. The area is officially recognized as the cru CIALLA for certain traditional varieties.
